Please excuse me if I seem new to this.I have only been trying to research my family since about last October,so if I make mistakes, please forgive me.I am trying to find records about my grandfather and his fide of the family. His name was George S.Rush, and he was born in Chester,Wells,Indiana in 1879 toWilliam and Catherine Rush.William was born in Ohio, and catherine S. was born in Indiana.I have no record of George after 1909 when he and his then wife Rebecca Long had an unnamed baby girl in Pulaski county,Indiana in July of 1909. They had 2 other children twins,Fred and Mary, born November 23,1906. Can anyone help? I am at my wits end,and keep hitting brick walls.
I won't claim to have broken through your brick walls but maybe I have put a ladder against one of them for you.
1880 Census - Indiana - Wells - Chester Township - Dist 146 page 6 lines 13 - 16 have him listed as 1 with his sister Elsie J 8 and parents Catherine 34 and William 35.
1900 Census - Indiana - Pulaski - Beaver - Dist 86 page 15 line 15 has a George Rush listed as employee with the Swartz family.
In the Indiana index to marriages for Newton County there are three entries. 1) George S and Rebbicca Long bk 4 pg 169 2) Geo S and Rebecca Long bk 21 pg 24 and
3) Geo L and Rebecca Long bk 22 pg 111. All these entries have the same marriage date of 06 Dec 1903.
1910 Census - Indiana - Newton - Jefferson - Dist 132 page 14 lines 92 - 98
It appears as though Rebecca and the twins are with her parents, Geo W and Alice Long in this instance, she is as 23 with Mary 3 and Fred 3 along with what appear to be her siblings Linnie 13 and Jerry 9. I wouldn't even attempt a guess at where her husband and other daughter are although she states 3 living children.
Hope this is of some help to you. Happy hunting. Jeanne
Jeanne,
Thank you for trying to help,I really appreciate the time it must have taken you.As my origianl post said, I have information up until July of 1909,but it is after that that I keep hitting that brick wall on all of the family, except the child,Fred, that was my father.Everyone else is a mystery!
Thanks again! Donnam
I apologize for the inconvience, however, I too have hit a brick wall. I have been searching since early January and come up nowhere. I am looking for William C. Wells parents names, and it seems as though he magically appeared from the preverbial "Cabbage Patch". Robert (his son) was born April 24, 1879 and if I have done the research properly his parents names were William C. Wells (1850) and Anna Wells (1855), and that's where it stops. It is as if they were magically found in the preverbial "Cabbage Patch". If someone has information or can help in anyway I would appreciate it greatly.
