Hello --- this is my first post to this list (a new member). I am researching the Majernik / now Mayernik and Raunig surnames. My MAJERNIK ancestors originated from Slovakia, near Zamutov. My Grandfather, Michael MAJERNIK was born 1890 in Zamutov to Josef Mayernik and Maria KOSCS MAJERNIK.
My Raunig ancestry existed in Austria. In the Karnten district. Great Grandfather, Alois RAUNIG was born 1866 in Strassburg and his mother, Maria RAUNIG was born 1844 inn Lieding, Austria. - very close to the village of Strassburg. Many other Raunig ancestors also from the same area.
Any help about these surnames would be appreciated.
