I am looking for James M Fox and Emily J Fox (nee Moore). I cannot find them in the US 1880 census, even though they were born 1849 and 1853 respectively. They were married in 1872 and had eight children, seven of whom survived. They were both born in Ohio. They seemed to have disappeared off the charts prior to 1900. Could they have been missed in the 1880 Census or does this indicate a possible name change? I wish the 1890 US Census hadn't been destroyed in that darn fire. Any suggestion of what to do next would be helpful as I am new at this and live in Australia now which makes this process harder.
