Can someone tell me about scrapple. Are there variations? Where did it first start? Is it a maindish or sidedish? Thanks.

It's my understanding that it's a side dish and it the left-over meats from a pig.

You can buy scrapple. It is exactly that "scraps from a pig". You usually have it for breakfast, sliced and fried. You must not be from the South.
